good source for supplements

Hiya,

With all this discussion on GAGs, chondroitin sulfates, Adequan, etc, I
thought I'd post a really good source for these and alot of other feed
supplements. The catalog is United Vet Equine and the # is
1-800-328-6652. They carry alot of basic equipment, but mostly I've
been using them for their prices on the glucosamine feed supplements
that are helpful for arthritis/DJD and for biotin for hoof quality (the
only supplements I feed). They carry several types of chondroitin
sulfate supplements, including an in-house product that is comparable to
Cosequin at a higher concentration and cheaper price. Their price for
Xtra Flex (comparable to Flex-Free) is also cheaper on a per-milligram
basis than I've been able to find anywhere else (26,956 mg/oz, costs
about 70 cents per 2000 mg serving vs. 77 cents per serving of flexxion
at $75 for 5 lb, 2500 mg/oz). I know it's only a few cents per day, but
I'm giving it to four horses every day and it adds up.

Also, United sells Adequan at $145 for 4- 5 ml bottles WITH A
PRESCRIPTION FROM YOUR VET. My vet didn't have any problem with doing
this once he'd made a diagnosis and it saved me almost $20 a dose.

And, United doesn't charge for shipping & handling if you order more
than $75 worth.

Anyway, just another source for Stuff.

Susan
