Fortunately (or unfortunately? guess it depends on your perspective :) I
am not the type to slink into a hole. Sorry, folks, but I am fairly
outspoken myself, so here's another installment.

What I hope that we have all learned from this episode of Ridecamp's
Controversy of the Week (I really love this list) is that BALANCE is
required in all things. Not just in the saddle, but in all aspects of
your life. A combination of personal experience (just "do" it!) and
vicarious experience (reading, asking questions, talking to others) is
likely to produce a safe, effective, happy, well-rounded rider -- or
accountant, or housekeeper, or teacher or minister.

Most of us will reside in both modes simultaneously. It has often been
said (to me, at least, by my mother) "You won't know if you don't ask."
Of course, I think we would all agree that you have to know a little bit
in order to know what to ask.

So BALANCE is the key. Do a little, ask a little, read a little, do a
little more. Just keep going.
