Hi Wynne;
I drive a Peterbilt for a living, yes it would be worth the money to have the
jake-brake.
Just be sure to know when to use it properly. Never use it on slick roads,
you shouldn't be going fast on slick roads anyway. Never use it when you are
at max.
rpm's. It does help on quick stops, but it's use is for going off hills, long
grades, gear down to the right gear, rpm's between 1700 if your max. is 2200,
and turn it on. Use light steady pressure on the brakes if the rpm's start
getting too high. Never fan the brakes, which is hard short braking. Hope you
enjoy your new truck.
