travel stop over

Hollywood & I will be going to the Tahoe Rim ride at Lake Tahoe, Ca. July 24
& 25th. We live in Carmel Valley, Ca. I'd like to take two days to
transport, leaving on Thursday. Not having done this before, I'm not
knowing where to stay or how to find accomodations for Thursday night. We
have a camper.

Any ideas? What do you do about horse accomodations when you travel?

Thanks for any ideas you have.....

*I guess the "idea" I would have is not to take two days. I can't
imagine it taking more than 6 hours hauling time to get up to Tahoe
from Carmel. To me, stopping over, and dealing with unloading, and
loading back up would be more hassle than it is worth! Why not haul
straight through Thursday morining, then have all day Friday to kick
back and rest, give your horse a chance to drink, and do some riding
to loosen him up......
