My horse must have the thinnest skin in creation (Arab/TB). Everyday I
find a new scrape of some sort (I am ready to buy a suit of armor for
her) She heals quickly, but left behind is sensitive pink hairless skin.
I have been putting zinc on these areas to keep them from burning (this
worked great for her sunburned pink nose, healed it in 3 days) but the
hair isn't growing back. What can I do to help promote hair growth in
these areas? Would I put it on before or after sunscreen? Also, does
anyone have any thoughts on herbal fly spray? Do they work well? (I feel
bad everyday like I am chemically poisoning my horse when I COAT her in
fly spray, her thin skin seems to attract ALL the flies!)
