There was quite a lot of discussion on the Sport Saddle several months ago.
You might want to check the archives for many of the pros and cons. As for
myself I have been riding in one for over two years and love it. I did my
first one day 100 after having the saddle for only two weeks. My horse
consistantly had back soreness in just about everything I had tried before
(including the Ortho-flex, which would not work on him at all because he is
so short backed). IMHO it is the most comfortable (for the rider) saddle on
the market today, like riding on a sofa. However, it is not the be-all,
end-all answer to back problems. Heat build-up is a real problem. And you
need to be a well, balanced rider (actually this is necessary in any saddle
:-)) I feel the saddle is over-priced for the quality & workmanship
involved, but I don't think I can go back to riding in a saddle with a tree
again, I am very spoiled now, so I guess when this one wears out, I'll bite
the bullet and get another one. I've made some improvements to mine that
would probably only be necessary if you are doing 100's. E-mail me if you'd
like more info.
