The 4th Beaver Meadows Limited Distance and Endurance Rides were
held this past weekend, June 14th, under great weather (except for a brief
rain/hail storm in the afternoon!) and trail conditions. There were 51
starters in all distances, and 19 pre-registered "no shows".
Veterinarian Bonnie Wright was honored with the Sportsmanship Award
for "fairness & generosity demonstrated through action"; Ride Managers in
the UC-Davis area look for her in the next month-she is an excellent Vet!
For the third consecutive time on this challenging, high elevation
mountain course, Karen DiCamillo of New Mexico with Zazarr completed the
100 mile ride - congratulations Karen & Zazarr!
For the first time, a 15 mile "Fun Ride" was held as an
introduction to the sport, and 14 riders started with all completing!

On the 100 mile ride there were three starters with two completions:
Karen DiCamillo with Zazarr: BC & 1st FW, 2nd overall
Cindy Binns-Mendoza with Kamaal Romeo: 1st MW, 1st overall

On the 75 mile ride there were three starters with two completions:
Holly Ulyate with Beztez: BC & 1st LW, 1st overall
Diana Makris with CW Bezadew McCoy: 2nd LW, 2nd overall &
1st Rookie!

On the 50 mile ride there were 17 starters with 14 completions:
Jill Hughes with Aristos-Ben-Quema: BC & 1st LW, 2nd overall
Will Ingalls with Mi Desert Storm: 1st HW, 4th overall
Mark Daily with Khalyber: 2nd HW, 10th overall

Rick Harper with Baladdin: 2nd LW, 5th overall
Cindy Soloway with Chel Bee Class: 3rd LW, 9th overall
Michelle Anderson with Dakota Knight: 4th LW, 11th overall
Bridgett Shaw with Impulsively: 1st FW, 1st overall
Amber Hinson with Deja Vu: 2nd FW, 3rd overall
Theresa Maloof with Tugg: 3rd FW, 7th overall & 1st MORAB!

September 28: THE GREAT COLORADO WHACKY RELAY!
3 humans, 1 horse & 1 bike = 10 mile run + 15 mile horseback ride +
20 mile mountain
bike ride. (Golden Gate Canyon State Park, 15 miles NW of Golden, CO)
