Help! Colicky horse

To all ridecampers,

During the night my horse colicked. She has been treated with banamine,
rompum (zylazine), dipyrone, and mineral oil. Two vets have looked at her.
Each has used a stomach tube and gotten more than normal reflux (probably
from intestine). She has passed several small normal looking stools.
Still won't eat or drink and still lays around and rolls (I have been
walking also). She is still very uncomfortable. Both vets are suspecting
obstruction (high up in tract), twisted intestine or telescoping intestine
which have very guarded prognosis. Has anyone dealt with any of these
problems? She is still bright and alert (but with major tummy ache). I
would hate to put her down.

Thanks,
Carol (CAPape@worldnet.att.net)
