YES, YES, YES!!!

But don't call him, just deliver the horse back to him. I bet if you
called him and stopped payments he would never come and pick the horse
up, but in the mean time your paying board.

At my stable I can't believe how many people have "bad" horses that are
lame, untrainable, or have health problems. These people have put so
much money into their horses because they "love" their animals. So trust
your initial feeling, don't make excuses and GET RID OF THAT HORSE.
There are too many good useful horses out there just waiting to have a
good home. Don't keep your horse unless you want a "project" or
"fixer-upper" that can be so "rewarding and fulfilling". ;-)

I may sound unfeeling and distant but I really am tired and need to go
to bed. And yes, I am "one of those" owners who fell in love with a
pretty and sweet mare who needed a lot of "fix'in". She will probably
never be that great endurance horse I wanted....but next time....
