But it wouldn't be fair to the AERC members who started and paid if the
number of starters is whittled down to less than 11; they wouldn't get full
points! Maybe the deadbeats should be listed as starters but not
finishers. A similar thing happened at a ride in our area. Of 15 or so
starters, only 8 or so were AERC members-- the ride manager thought he
could save some money on sanctioning fees by only sending in the names of
the starters who belonged to AERC. The plan backfired when the AERC
members heard they were not being given full points and started
complaining!
