I have heard it is good to use dilute mouthwash, both to get rid of the
plastic taste, and to disinfect the bag after use to prevent interesting
things from growing. Best not to use the really strong mouth washes - mint
flavoured ones are probably best. Also works for water bottles that grow
"friendly fur" after using glucose/electrolyte mix. The other option for
disinfecting is Milton tablets used for baby bottles - might not improve the
taste though.
