Jan,

A friend of mine swears by 1/2-1 C of Apple cider vinegar in the feed/
day as a systemic fly repellant. I have also haerd about powdered garlic
in various natural food catalogs.

This is aformula I have been using at a friend's rec. Some is natural
and the bulk is not.

Mix in a 32oz bottle

1TB Eucalyptus Oil
1TB Citronella Oil
1TB Camphor Oil preferred over spirits
2oz hair conditioner
3oz baby oil
the remainder of the 32oz is Pinesol, straight out of bottle

If the horse has any cuts or scrapes, I'd put some A&D or other
ointment over it before you spray this. It smells great, and keeps the
flys off at least 24 hrs. Pretty cheap per application too!:)

Let me know if you use it and how you like it.
