The Dogwood Challenge (held at Greensfelder Park by Six Flags close to St
Louis Missouri) was blessed not only with sunshine and moderate temperature, it was blessed with superb ride management!

For those of you who missed this ride, you missed something special.
Cris & Donna, with an army of great friends, took a rather complex trail
system and had it so well marked plus that you had to REALLY snooze to
miss a turn! (The furthurest Debbie and I cantered past a turn couldn't
have been more than 50 yards :-)) Maps were excellent, too. They
helped identify landmarks and judge distances.

What I appreciated the most was how well organized the vet checks were.
There was NO confusion - Donna had held meetings and drilled everyone.
When you, the rider, come into camp in a brain dead condition, it is
wonderful to be greeted by knowing timers and pr people who correctly
directed you each step of the way.

For those of you that have never ridden this trail, it is a fairly
challenging trail - some mud, the typical rolling missouri rocks but
also lovely bridle paths, scenic overlooks, and a fragrant pine forest
to canter through (my Nappy loved the soft pineneedle footing). Nearly
all the trail is shaded with forest. You should try and make it next year!

After ride cusine consisted of grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and brats -
buns, all the fixin's and sodas - delicious!

Many thanks, Cris and Donna Rodriquez for such an enjoyable day!
