Hi all,

I agree with Bob 100%. This is what I've been saying for many years.

I have two arab geldings who are full brothers. Their confirmation is
entirely different from each other. Hoss has "tree-trunk" legs and is very
"bulky". Consequently, he doesn't handle heat very well. Also,
psychologically, he's a sissy. He doesn't have that determination that is
so important for a winning attitude. However, he is one of the sweetest
natured horses you'll ever come across.

On the other hand, his brother, Rocky, can be the twit of the century! He
is definitely his "own horse" and it shows in his performance. He is more
streamlined than Hoss, although his legs aren't as thick. However, like the
battery bunny, he goes and goes and goes! He's been very successful in all
of our rides.

It's been really interesting comparing the two, physically and
psychologically. I think it really emphasizes that "it's the horse, not the
lineage" that determines a good endurance horse!
