Some mountain bikers had passed us today while we were giving our horses
a breather during at the 15 mile point on our conditioning ride. We
were surprised to see them some moments later, stopped, around a curve.
They'd stopped to warn us about a rattler stretched across the trail.

Nice of them to do that, though it was a rather young snake out
sunning. It was 90+ today, and the snakes are starting to show; this
was on the Indian Truck Trail in southern Cal.

We've trotted over rattling ones that we didn't notice until close
enough to hear or see. At least we've always been ok so far being at a
faster gait.
