Because it is THRILLING!!! I did it for 5 years and LOVED it. Sorta of like
running up front on a endurance ride on an out of control horse. You heart
pounds and you are half scared to death, but when you realize you are going
to survive, the result is an incredible feeling of exhilaration.

I had one run away..out of control..jog cart on the main track with strings
of slow "joggers" side by side discussing whatever..completely oblivious to
my dilemna. I took a chance and steered the critter off the track (barely
missing others joggers) and headed him right into a barn wall...Yes, he
stopped!!! My heart was pounding and now I was MAD. I tied a piece of
bailing twine around his tongue and attached the reins to it..took him back
on the track for another try (FOOL!!!). He still tried to run away and had a
bloody tongue for days, but I had enough control to get in his 6 miles and
the revenge I needed....

Sorry, I'm not really sadistic, just firmly set on self-preservation...BUT,
there is nothing like 30 MPH BEHIND a horse!!!
