Ok folks, please bear with me. I am new at computers and am not very
articulate with this medium. Yet.
Now, I have been following the "dentist-bull poop" thread with some
confusion. From my own personal, physical experience with the chiropractor, I
know that something happens when he applies pressure in a calculated way to
specific areas of my spine. Before the visit, I have had pain in my right
knee and afterwards it is gone. Something happened.
Now, all my horses are patients of Dr. Peggy Fleming who resides here in Fl.
Alot of us use her, she is a so-called alternate practioner of chiroopractic,
acupuncter and homeopathy. She has been traditionally trained and graduated
from the Univ. of Fl's vet school. She is well known in our area and some of
you out there may know her too as she flies all over and teaches these
alternative skills.
Anyway, my mare had been diagnosed by the Univ. of Fl. vets as having
synovitis of the left front fetlock. Head bobbing lame and resentment of
flexion. Radiograghs taken showed nothing remarkable. They treated her with
hyaluronic acid/cortisone intrarticularly injected. She also had a round of
7 Adequan im injections. She was still lame after 5 months and 2 more HA
injections. The vets said Bute, pleasure ride and breed.
Before I gave up, I thought I would try this alternative stuff and took my
mare to Dr. Peggy who "adjusted" her ankle, (loud popping sound) gave
acupuncture and a homeopathic remedy. She has been sound ever since (2 years)
and has begun 50 milers this past season, top 10 in one of them. Still sound
Ok, I say something happens, the question is what, not if. Is this synovial
fluid being repositioned or redistributed? It seems for myself a feeling of a
nerve being pinched is alleviated and the joint feels like it goes back into
place. I don't know either but we have an appt. with Dr. Peggy May 15. I will
try to get a statement.
Well ,I just felt like putting these thoughts on paper(?) Hope I am being
appropriate.
