Selling Products on the List

As a new rider and born shopper who lives 125 miles from any tack store, I
appreciate information and sources for the equipment recommended on the list.

When I travel on business, I try to go to large tack stores (LA, Dallas,
Denver) and most do not know what I am talking about. Ask to see Roger's
monitor, Greg's Cloud Stirrups, a Sports Saddle or one of several pads--I'll
bet most sales people can not even answer a question, much less show you the
product. The best I ever got (last January) was a kind lady (who actually
rode endurance) at one of LA's largest tack dealers. She "apologized" for
not carrying anything I asked to see. She explained that she had asked her
boss to let her stock a few of our basics but was told there was not enough
of a market.

This morning a friend of mine in San Jose said he was going shopping for a
few items for his new hobby--endurance riding. I suggested that he check out
Endurance Net first. Wanna Bet what he'll say this afternoon?

I have found every vendor on this list to be very helpful and professional.
When I asked about saddles, No one complained when vendors rendered an
opinion. When I asked about finding an Endurance horse, No one complained
when sale horses were posted. I see no difference when we are discussing
climbing rope reins and a vendor offers a product. In fact, I would love to
hear from one as I am also 125 miles from the closest store that carries
climbing rope and would not know what to do with it if I could find it!
