>I have noticed some horses have mucus encapsulated poops at the
end of an endurance ride, and also in some horses that have coliced.
What causes this and what does it indicate?>

I learned this one in my Animal Nutrition class just last week.
Dehydration can cause a mucous coating on the feces. There is a more
detailed answer, but I don't have my notes with me. So, I'll have to look
it up and get back to you.
