Yes, The rim shoes will give a bit of roll to the toe but the same effect
can be obtained by setting the shoe back at the toe to where it really
should be and rounding the toe of the shoe just a slight bit. Doesnt take
much to do and the effect is much better than the rim shoe.

I will admit that one of the main reasons I have against the rim shoe for me
is that with the flat plates I am lucky to get four weeks of wear during the
competition season.We have a lot of decomposed granite and shoes wear fast
when it is dry. Will also admit that we all are influenced by the type of
country we ride in. It is possible we would have trouble if we were in damp
or wet climate where things tend to get slippery. So for our country it is
flat plats for the competition season and for training then bare feet the
rest of the year or when the horse gets ridden more than about 20 miles a
week.
