Bonnie.. to ground the fencer.. get a LONG FAT flat blade screwdriver
About a foot loog or more
attach the gorund lead with a griip clip or clamp
push and twist the screw driver in the ground.. tap with a hammer

OR
get a 2 ft section of thread 1/2 inch stock-hardware store.. put a CAP nut on
one end

clamp lead to the stock.. use hammer to drive into ground

pour water around the area where metal is in the ground..
