Hi Karen, you missed a beautiful ride yesterday, SASO, it was sunny, clear,
and in the 70's, we had 59-50 milers and 10 or 12-25 milers. Barri was great
to ride, he was a maniac for the first 35 miles we rode in the top three most
of the day, at lunch I was second. But he started to tire the last ten miles
and we finished ninth. This was only his second ride, and he only had a month
of conditioning. the vet said his recoveries were the best she has ever seen,
including Rio!! At lunch when I left he was at 32!! And at the third vet
check after cantering in he was only at 56!!! He is related to Rio, and was
bred by Becky and Courtney. I only missed BC by time factor caculation, if I
had made it in 5 minutes sooner I would have gotten BC. He is going to be a
fantastic endurance horse, he could very easily be another Rio with a little
work. I am very impressed with this horse, I wish Maryben would sell him to
me!!
Are you going to be able to make the SASO ride on the 22 of Mar.? Or the
Mustang Classic the following week? The Mustang Classic should be a really
nice ride. Hope you can make one of them, I want to try out that saddle.
