Hi Kimberly!

I did Camp Far West last year. I rode Weav in the 50, and a friend
rode Rocky in the 25. It is a nice ride, good camping - large area in
grassy area, plenty of parking, and the BBQ dinner was great. Awards
for everybody are sweatshirts which are nice. Easy trail, mostly flat
with rolling hills, I remember there being plenty of water on the trail
for the horses. It is a BIG ride, close to 200 horses were there
between the 25 and the 50, but it didn't seem to be too much of a
problem. I was in the upper 1/3 of the riders so wasn't bad for me but
some riders complained about long vet lines at lunch. If you are doing
the 25 it won't be that much of a problem.
Overall, nice ride, and one that you would enjoy doing on Mystery :).

Hi Kimberly,

Camp Far West is known as "the easy one." It's a great one to start
with.
It's fairly flat, nice trail, not too rocky, a couple of water
crossings (maybe just one for the 25). If you are thinking of doing
the 50, it is two different loops with lunch back at base camp. The
campsite is very nice but gets pretty crowded. This is a popular ride.
There are a few trees, some nice grass and a stream. Last year the
water trucks arrived late and people were hauling water from the stream
- I've learned to bring my own from home.

It's a fun ride and well-managed.

Carol
