Visit the WESTERN STATES TRAIL FOUNDATION booth #64 at the AERC
Convention in Reno on February 21 & 22. We are near the main stage of
AERC where all the convention raffles take place.

Stop by and say hello. We will again have the world famous "Cups" on
display. See the LLOYD TEVIS Cup, JAMES BEN ALI HAGGIN Cup and THE
JOSEPHINE STEDEM SCRIPPS FOUNDATION Cup. The name of the winners of
these Cups are engraved on gold and silver medallions. The Scripps Cup
is for recognition of all the Junior riders since 1957 (we are still
trying to confirm all the juniors so if you see names missing, let us
know). The appraised dollar value of these cups is over $15,000.

As has been done in the past, videos of prior year Rides will be
showing. This year we will be playing the tape of the National
Geographic segment that ran world wide in November 1996. We will also
have a video of the flooding on the Middle Fork of the American River on
January 1, 1997. See how "No Hands Bridge" survived another major hit.

The Friends of the Western States Trail Alliance (FOWSTA) and the Board
of Governors of WSTF will be having a get together at 5PM, Friday
February 21 in Room B-7 of the Convention Center. Join us for a "no
host cocktail party" and see the Trail map with all the names of the
people and groups that have been so kind in our effort to raise money
for the endowment for future trail preservation ... "SALE OF THE
TRAIL". Consider purchasing your mile of trail for $5,280. Details
will be available at the booth.

Be sure to bring money or have your credit card limits available so you
can purchase Tevis merchandise items, Ride entries, buy parts of the
Trail, purchase a raffle ticket for a framed poster of "No Hands Bridge"
donated by the veterinary team from the 1996 Ride.

If you can't make it, be sure to look at the TEVIS Web Page at
http://www.foothill.net/tevis

See you all there.
