Hi Barbara - I'm forwarding your message to the endurance listserve,
ridecamp@endurance.net . There are probably people on the list from
MA that can help you with local trails and rides. If you want to subscribe
to the listserve, let me know - quite a bit of basic information can be
obtained. It's a good way to 'meet' people too!

good luck,

Steph Teeter

I found the bulletins on HRM's very interesting; however, did not see a
location that really broke down the identity and variations including avg.
pricing, or purchase ability. I would also appreciate obtaining a
conditioning schedule for beginners. Currently we do 10-15 miles for
pleasure; but need to learn how to monitor is pr's (hard with stetho) and how
to gradually increase his work without risk of damage to my love of my life!

Unfortuanetly, all the rides I have been successul in locating are quite some
distance from me; however, we have a truck, camper & trailer and are willing
to travel but would like to know where in MA I can find at least 25 mile
treks to condition in. We just moved barns and have new trails which are
great; some small hills and sand, but no way of measuring the distance of the
trail so I can't tell how many miles we have traveled just guess to mate by
his pace.

Any reading or tape material covering basic training would be apprecaited as
well as feed back on treks in or around MA that are around 25 miles;
regardless of pleasure, CTR, or endurance (doubt end that small)

Thanks, and I'll check this area weekly!!

Barbara
