Sacking out *in the COWBOY way* is a pretty harsh treatment for a
sensitive horse. Now, not all cowboys do things this way. So,
Cowboy is probably the wrong term. Don't need to sterio type any
group, do we?

The old method of sacking out was to tie a horse to a snubbing post,
and take an old grain sack and "sack out" the horse by continually
throwing the sack on and around the horse till the horse stood still.

I sack out horses the new way (should that be new age way?), with a
bit more sensitivity to the feelings of my horse. I'll get the same
result, but I don't have to be big and tough, I don't need a snubbing
post, and my horses feel much better afterwards.
