Agreed. Larger horses can't change speed/direction as fast as smaller horses. The lesser your mass is in relation to your horses mass, the less force you need in relation to the force your horse needs to do that 180 degree turn.
Or put more clearly, on the larger horse you have more time to react than on a smaller horse. F-16's can loop, 747 can't. (I hope...)
