Joyce:

My wife has ridden Champagne over 8,000 miles in competition and many times
that in training and conditioning. At 26, even though retired from
competition the old witch still "tries" her rider when starting out. This is
part of the Bond between Arlene and Champagne. "Let's see who is in charge
today?"

Now that the old witch is retired Arlene rides Tourmaline, an arab that is a
bit taller than Champagne. Well, Tourmaline likes to spook every once in a
while. No not at the general things but those big dragons that no one else
can see. It would be easy to say let's sell here and get something easy but
NO!! It has become a challenge to go on a ride and try to get back home with
out going off and landing on the ground.

These are the things that lend spice to life. And if Arlene, at 65 , can do
it I don't have much sympathy for the younger generation. Life is dull when
not living on the edge!!!
