WHile it's true that many people and horses with Lyme-like symptoms may not
have Lyme disease- they may be infected with another related organism that
causes a similar syndrome. The disease it causes is generally called non-Lyme
borelliosis and may explain why animals or humans with Lyme symptoms don't
have antibodies to B. burgdorferi.-Amy
