Teddy,

There are always the few - - - just as long as they don't become the
majority. I think the limited distance is great, also slightly demeaning to
be called "limited distance". Not many "back yard" horse owners, or
horseowners who keep their horse at a stable can or do make the time to
condition a horse (or themselves) to do 25 mi. in a decent time. Most can go
out and do it - but fewer do it well.

I still wish the AERC promoted more "elevator rides". That way, if you are
using the 25's as a stepping stone to the 50's, & it was a great day - you
could just step-up & do it!

I agree! Last Mendo endurance I only did the 25, because it was
my mares first ride and I thought that after 25 miles I might
really want to get off her! But, she behaved better than expected,
was in excellent condition, did the 25 at moderate speed, and had
I had the option to "elevate" to the 50, I just might have done
it!

Also, would be nice to be able to get a Junior rider through a
25, then go on and finish the 50.
