Here are the 2 HUGE truths about endurance riding. And in addition, we REALLY
liked our stallion being chosen at Halloween Horror a few years ago as the
winner of the Conformation competition, chosen by the vets, until they
realized he had been pulled just 3 miles before the finish due to a cramp
that we didn't feel like risking him for. Of course, he was fine, and we were
thrilled that our "average halter horse" was a winner as a conformation
athlete.
Just an aside - if anyone ever yelled at me "50 coming", my response on a
narrow trail like that would be "...and waiting until the trail widens!"
Having been knocked off of a trail by a rider like that and almost breking my
neck as that rider continued on her merry way, I have zero tolerance for
unsafe bad manners. Just the way I was brought up, I guess! Thanks, Karen!
