For all of you that wonder what a Moyle horse is:

A family by the name of Moyle originally from Utah, south of Salt Lake and
near the Stage Lines used the furnish stage horses. They also got into the
MINK raising business. (poor horses make good mink food) Eventually they
moved into south east Idaho and thence some of them moved to the Boise area.
The mink and mink food(read horses) came along in one form or the other.

Said family that we know Rex the father (since deceased) raised the horses
and Marge the mother along with several girl children started endurance
riding very early on. Rex claimed their horses were a cross between the
"french carriage horses" and the TB. The horses were (and as far as I know
still are) range raised near Weiser ID. Good ones got ridden for all
purposes not just endurance but they are good ranch horses also. Poor ones
got used for what they were raised for.

I was to=ld by one person trying to train one that they were very easy to
train. To go right you hit them on the left side of the head with a baseball
bat. To go left you applied it to the right side. (thus proving horses move
away from pressure)

They were quite good in endurance placing well in early Tevis races and
Moyle Hawk ridden by Marge went over 5000 miles and did several five day
rides.

Have not seen Marge in a year or so and do not think any of the family are
riding endurance any more. They also do not raise mink now.

All you wanted to know and more.
