I was *so* pleased to read Janet Evans post about the Haflinger who
is doing well in Endurance. :) This is the breed I have determined is
best for my non-horsey family to learn with. They *are* incredibly
versatile and here in the States they are being bred a bit lighter
and taller, although you can still find the real drafty-type. I also
think they are totally gorgeous to look at...those manes, those tails!
Incredible. We are hoping to find *our* perfect Hafie sometime this
year, or next. In the meantime I am learning what I can about
Endurance riding and getting very excited about trying it. Attending
the MRER Convention is my short-term goal. This seems like the
perfect place to find out more and discover who else from my area does
this.

As I've read often enough, you *can* do this with any horse, if you
take the care and time to train properly. I am interested in hearing
more about training the non-typical Endurance horse. And of course
any more chatting about Haflingers in particular would be most
welcome. :)
