this may very well be a way to handle some of the changes that will occur
with the infusion of $$$, however, one of the things that I really like
about this sport right now is that we can all compete equally. That is, I,
joe-blow endurance rider, can go to a ride and compete against some of the
top riders in our region (and once in a blue moon come out in front <vbg>).
And, wasn't it Karen that mentioned that Becky Hart/Rio was at the last ride
she went to and Karen didn't even know she was talking to B. Hart at the vet
check? That is, Becky was there competing on the same trail and under the
same rules as us "mere mortals" <g>.

This is a really neat aspect to this sport - if a professional division is
created that feeling of everyone being able to compete on equal footing
would be lost for the most part. A dichotomy would be created within the
sport that doesn't exist now - at least not as an officially defined
separation.
