Someone came up with a really good suggestion when they said to have a =
2nd professional division within the AERC. This division would have cash =
prizes and stricter rules. It's going to come to this at some point like =
it has to many other sports. Meanwhile, the local rides are going to be =
the same, much like local non "A" horse shows. All your friends go, =
there's no cash prizes, just ribbons and the class entry fees are low. I =
don't think that the local rides will be affected all that much. The =
people that prefer to ride for the fun and companionship of it all will =
ride and support the local rides. The others who chose to make endurance =
riding a money making business will be in the professional division and =
have to put up with all the extra ____ associated with competing at that =
level. Meanwhile more attention will be focused on our sport attracting =
more people, both good and bad.
