In a message dated 96-11-27 20:14:23 EST, you write:

<< I always thought the primary source of energy is fat, not protein. And I
always thought protein was for building muscle. Protein does supply fat . .
.
how? Metabolically, I mean. I thought protein and fat were two different
things as carbohydrates is different from either of them. I'm confused.

Carbohydrate is the primary source of energy. Fat is a secondary source and
protein a tertiary source. However, some amino acids (proteins) can come in
very handy, especially during high intensity exercise.
