You asked for it!!:-)

Beet Pulp. It is what is left over after the sugar is removed from the
sugar beets. It can be bought shredded or pelleted. I have the contents
here:

Crude Protein 7%
fat 0.3%
fiber 22%
energy 74% TDN NEI 0.81 Mcal/lbs
calcium 0.6%
phosphorus 0.1%

I have been using it for 5 years now. I use it year round, and even here
in the heat in Alabama, I do not have a problem with spoilage, unless I
get lazy and do not feed one time. I have also not had a horse colic
while on this except for one, and he had a problem with I got him, had
been through major surgery, the whole nine yards. He did not colic unles
he was taken off the property, so I don't think it was the feed.

I have found many uses for it, and so far have not had one horse that
does not like it. It's great for older horses that may not have such
good grinders left, since it is soaked, they digest much more than if
they were eating hay.
I have noticed that many dog/cat/horse/ feeds are now adding beet pulp as
an ingredient because it is so digestable.

Hope this helps.
