Jessica: you wrote that you want to buy a 2 horse Sundowner with LQ, and tow it with a 3/4 ton Ford F250 diesel.

Anecdotally -- we have a 27-foot, two horse frp slant with lq. We towed it for several years with a Ford F-250, 460 gas engine, heavy duty towing package, etc. etc. But we ran through transmissions and brakes -- and even stretched the frame. It was totally disconcerting going down mountains not being sure we were going to stop at the bottom. We now have a Ford F-700 (BIG truck) rated at 26,000 pounds. May be clunky, but we KNOW itšs going to stop, and the transmissionšs going to hold up!

As Teddy says, you can pull your trailer with a light p-u -- but for how long?

BTW -- all the dealers we talked to (and there were a lot) said, Oh, the pickup should pull that trailer with no problem. They just didnšt know what they were talking about.
