Thanks for all the information! I have printed most of it out and faxed it to
my farrier (my gosh, we really are in the 20th century aren't we). When he
comes again in 3 weeks we are going to work on it. Tomorrow I am going to buy
one of those angle finders so I can answer questions about what the angle is
now.
I have had quite a few questions about how Brenna travels, how old, what kind
of training, so I thought I would answer them here. Brenna is 10 years old,
we've been doing endurance for 3 years but we haven't done many rides because
I am mostly broke most of the time ( Hubby finally got his degree and a job
so mabey this is our year) She is wonderfully conditioned. Training, well
we've done it all. Dressage to barrel raceing. I still take a lesson once or
twice a month. When her shoes are clicking at her worst she is traveling in a
nice round frame, driveing from behind. I can tell she is iritated by the
clipping because she flinches (ever so slightly). After a half mile or so she
will begin to get strung out and the clipping doesn't happen as often. I have
to work to keep her in a nice frame, could part of that be because she
dosen't want to clip herself? It does happen more often when she is under
saddle, however it is also noticeable when she is not. I kept her barefoot
for 5 years, never noticed any clicking until I put shoes on her. Would a
barefoot horse make noise? I bet she was doing the same thing I was just
oblivious to it. Thanks for all the info, keep it comming if you have any
more.
