But how long do the batteries in the transmitter last? I think our HRM (plain
human polar, with the belt replaced with a longer one (thanks mom!)) began to
work iregularly after 18 months or so. Is it possible to cut open and replace
the batteries yourself, never mind the unit is no longer waterproof?

BTW, I use a string around the horse's neck and a string between the front legs
to keep the transmitter from going back under the girth.

And I also have to put the watch on the belt, it won't work at my wrist. A
long-range model would be nice, also for monitoring the HR while lounging (sp).
