Hi Margaret - On the endurance related question, a few years ago I purchased
an amplified steth. It cost about $100 but it can pick up the heart rate
from the off side of the horse. You can hear traffic passing if its not
touching the horse. I could try and research this for anyone who is
interested but I believe it came from the old AERC magazines when they were

Hey I haveone of these very nice.. its a accoustic amplified unit no
batteries..works well. I use it for gut sounds and for respiration.
was at AERC convention last year BSI ?
