The multi-day rides, generally speaking, are easier because you don't go as
fast! And it is true that the horse becomes stronger by the end of the week.
On the 4th day of a 5-day ride, I decided not to use the running martingale.
I assumed my mare wouldn't fight me -- after all, she'd already traveled 160
miles in three consecutive days.

Wrong. It seemed like twice as long to that first vet check where I could
get the running martingale to put it back. That mare nearly pulled my arms
out of the sockets!

I'd much rather do a multi-day ride than a one-dayer, no matter the distance.
