"Sprained" fetlock

Hi all!
I came home from work yesterday to discover that my 4 yr. old gelding (who
runs in a rocky pasture with three other horses) was limping on his right
rear leg. On closer inspection, his fetlock is swollen and tender. No cuts
or scrapes that I can see. He will put weight on it, but it is obviously
uncomfortable. Pastern and hoof seem okay, and the swelling ends just at the
top of the fetlock.
So.....any advice on treatments? Is this something that Flex-Free type stuff
would help? How about icing and wrapping (it's freezing here every night,
with cool temps during the day)? I can't really put him in a separate
paddock - he frets and races around when he's separated from the other
horses. Liniments?
Thanks much for your help!
