Sorry, can't give the ride results for this. I went as crew for a
couple of friends, Pat Taylor and Bob Walsh. Pat on her 3/4 Arab
gelding Elvis finished 6th and Bob on his Arab gelding Houdini was 7th
by a neck. A great guy from North Carolina named Wayne ??? was just
behind them on a very nice Arab mare. Wayne says he weights in at 225
lb and this pair was obviously a well suited pair. Doug Litzke (sp?)
came in 5th I believe and that was after loosing the trail in the dark
start and having to go back for a flash light!

This is a lovely ride. The location is just north of Roanoke Va, and
the home base is at the Bethel Christian Camp. The camp puts on two
good dinners Fri and Sat in their dining hall. There were very
adequate bath/shower facilities too. The camp is nestled up against
the Blue Ridge Mountains and the 30 mile loop climbed up and over the
top and then back again, crossing the Blue Ridge Parkway twice in
each loop. There was a "lot" of climbing, quite a bit of packed gravel
road (earlier rain softens these roads well) and lots of water along
the trails. The weather was wonderful and the ride management great.
