JUNIORS AT RIDES

In the Central Region we do several things to increase junior riders. On
Erma Cook's Poetry Fantasy Flight and Vonita Bower's Foxfire they ride
FREE. On my ride (Cougar Prowl) they rode for $5. On Janet Baldwin's
Indian Territory they rode for $10. The most they are is half price the
adult fare. I have even heard (which I may try next year!) of giving a
discount to the SPONSOR of the junior!!
Whether you really believe juniors are "the future of our sport" or not,
the fact is having juniors ride free or for next to nothing WILL increase
your rider numbers over the long run. And they are so much fun!
Also, our regional club Ozark Country Endurance Riders has neat awards for
juniors for year end awards. Most of our rides really make a special
effort to give juniors worthwhile awards! (Kids LOVE T-shirts!)
As a ride manager, this is no "skin off your back" and will do you well as
far as "good mouthing" your ride!
