I've just bought a four-horse Featherlite with living quarters. Total weight
of trailer unloaded is 8800 pounds, it's 26 feet long. I'm convinced I need
a dually and have heard Ford is the best. I'm wondering if I need 4 wheel
drive. Any comments or opinions on trucks and what's needed would be
appreciated!

SUSAN,

I SEE YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED MANY REPLIES; HOWEVER, HERE IS ONE MORE. I
RECENTLY (MARCH 96) BOUGHT A NEW TRUCK AND AFTER MUCH RESEARCH AND SOUL
SEARCHING OVER COSTS, I BOUGHT 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND IN MY OPION IT HAS ALREADY
PAID FOR ITSELF-I MUST HAVE USED IT 10 TIMES AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN
KANSAS ALONE. I'M NOT GOING TOMAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT BRANDS, BUT I WENT WITH
THE FORD TURBO DIESEL AND IF I DIDN'T HAVE IT- I WOULD BUY IT AGIN. MY OLD
TRUCK WAS ALSO A FORD AND IT IS STILL GOING WITH 160,000 MILES (BUT IT IS A
LITTLE TIRED).
