Just my opinion on 4WD. Bought a 3/4 T Chevy Turbo Diesal with extended cab,
$, whoops, 4WD, stick shift with overdrive, three yrs ago. At the time had a
little Hart two horse GN 13' on bed. The truck pulled that like there was
nothing behind it. Then bought an aluminum 4 Star trailer, GN two horse with
16' bed. We had it finished out by the fellows who built us an addition on
our house. No bathroom but insulated, with paneling, sink, an electric hot
water heater. Very comfortable for two people. Truck still pulled it like
there was nothing there. Where we go we need 4WD, not always, but enough we
are glad to have it. I do almost all the driving, am a short female & really
appreciate the user friendliness of the Chevy.
Also was brought up on a stick shift so enjoy it. I realize I'm not
addressing the size of the trailer originally posted, but am wondering
whether some problems might be because of a standard transmission vs an
automatic? Worst problem I've had was with my husband, the psychiatrst, who
took my truck to work on a very snowy day two yrs ago. Hwy 60 was under 18"
on snow. He tells me he puts it in 4WD & had it up to 60 passing all stuck
behind a snow plow! No wonder I do all the driving. Regards from sunny
