[endurance] Knee Injuries / More Questions

I want to thank everybody for all the great advice and information on the
subject of knee problems. It appears that a lot of endurance riders have
knee problems. I found a web site with more info in knee injuries:

http://www.tms.tribune.com/tribune_fitness/kneeinj.htm

There are a couple of other web sites but I was unable to get to them. If
anybody knows of any more, please let me know.

Has anybody out there tried the magnetic therapy knee braces? I found a
place I can order one for $39.95 and was wondering if it was worth the money.

Another question - has anybody has a cortisone shot in their knee, and if
so, what did you think of it? Did it help?

The doctor thinks I may have a menial tear (the meniscus is the cartilage
surrounding the knee). I have been taking anti-inflammatories, icing twice
a day, using linament, and trying to stay off of my leg. I'm going back to
the doctor on Tuesday, that is why I am asking about the cortisone. I think
my knee is getting better - for a few days I could hardly walk on it, even
with pain pills. It is still a little swollen, but I am able to move around
now without any pain if I'm careful. I don't remember injuring the knee,
but I must have done something because it never bothered me before now. If
anybody else out there has had an injury similar to this, I'd love to hear
from you!

Thanks,

Karen
