Patrick.

Thanks for the note on the conversion deliverables- that was
helpful. Cheryl has been inundated and hasn't gone over this to
respond yet. see # 3. She has told me the bible sheets are in good
order, the problem ones are being handled on a one-by-one basis.

With the help of Hugh, Jim Stosick moved our directories of CS
specific drawings to the Lindy server. Our next important steps:

1. We've ordered PCs and AutoCad LT for our areas that need access
to the drawings within CS. When they arrive, we'll work with
the Data Center to get read access to the drawings. By this time
we'd like to know what level access M&R wants to the CS drawings
and set those permits.

2. Cheryl has moved the drawings on to Lindy that are CS specific
and has left the directories that are associated with the conversion
process on Bonair. It is extremely important that files and
privileges not be deleted on Bonair. I would anticipate being able
to take a lot of data off it soon, but Cheryl needs to make the
determination on which files go where. PLEASE ask Hugh and any
other M&R staff not to delete files. I asked for too little space,
not accounting for the space needed for conversion, and the
recovery problems we had in April.

3. Comm Services has recognized a serious problem with our Cable and
UG drawings being both unreadable and out of date. Bert and
engineers have established a high priority to get those drawings up
to date. Cheryl has been asked to concentrate on fixing these
drawings. Can the same program BI ran against the bible sheets fix
the conversion related problems in the Cable/UG drawings? This
would save her a lot of work and get her back onto the Menu item
and other deliverables. I will take the point on this aspect of the
conversion, as it is a parallel process. Prompt action on this will
save us a lot of effort.

4. I'd like us to convene a meeting to determine the direction
our two organizations should go to work together with our common
information, particularly the base- maps and the bible sheets.
If we need to meet to clear up any outstanding conversion problems,
that should be a topic.

5. I'll review the other conversion deliverables with Cheryl to see
what can be delivered without impacting the Cable/UG drawings. My
GUESS is that the Menu problem specifics may have to wait a bit.
I will provide an item by item response to your note of 6/10/96
after I've had a chance to go over it with Cheryl.
