[endurance] Tick Season - HELP

Ugh! It's tick season here, and every time I ride, I end up pulling
15-20 ticks off my horse. Granted, he *is* a tick magnet. When I ride
with my husband, his horse rarely gets a tick. My previous horse rarely
attracted a tick.

Any suggestions for tick repellent that is waterproof and for sensitive
skin? I'd also like to know if there is anything that can be fed (like
vitamin B in humans) that is a natural repellent?

My horse is very allergic to ticks (oozing, swelling, etc. at tick
bite). I've had improved results when I spray the ticks with Adams flea
and tick repellant first (kills them in 60 sec.)then remove them. But
I'd rather avoid them altogether.

Ideas??? HELP!

Thanks,
Kathy
